March into Health

Our signature event is March into Health, a month-long offering of free events, activities and educational sessions put on by our partner organizations – all focused on helping our local residents adopt healthier lifestyles.

March 2 – 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Kickoff event featuring Wendy & DB Interactive Family Concert

Celebrate healthy fun for the whole family:

  • Cooking demo and tasting with Chef Doug from Tarragon Catering
  • Fresh Market fresh fruit giveaway and roaming fruit juggler
  • Kids crafts and activities
  • VNA Mobile Health Clinic will be present to provide free blood pressure, diabetes and BMI screenings

Free tickets to the Wendy & DB Interactive Family Concert will be distributed at the Activate Elgin lobby table from 1 – 3 pm.

Get back on track with your New Year’s resolution to have a healthier, happier life! Visit informational tables and listen to keynote speakers to learn more about health wellness and creating healthy habits. March 1 – Noon – 1:30 pm – U-46’s Wellness Fest

Fun activities for all ages. Discover new skills and good habits to achieve personal, academic and social success. Research shows that good nutrition and physical activity before, during and after the school day is strongly correlated with positive student
outcomes. Enjoy use of the Centre for the day; this event is free and open to the community.

All ages. It’s the monthly Elgin full moon ride. Join us for this social, moderately-paced night ride for a few miles throughout the core neighborhoods of Elgin. elginbikehub.com Reminder: Illinois State law requires bike riders to have a clear light on the front and a red reflector or a red light on the back for night time riding. Friendly for ages 8 – 80. Explore Elgin by bike and get to know your city and your neighbors! We’ll ride low-stress routes for 3 – 5 miles. We will be using a mix of off-street and on-street routes. All ages. Calling all families, friends, schools and youth organizations! Break out from the winter cold and join us during your Spring Break.
